A couple of weeks ago we West Washingtonians were blessed with amazing weather.
This, I am repeatedly told, is a rarity. We had an amazing summer, with sunshine and warm weather, and I don’t think it adequately prepared me for what the fall and winter is going to be like. October is already giving me a good helping of grey, rain, fog, and chill! I have come to really, really, love the sunshine. John Denver would be proud. Whenever the sun does come out, I get this overwhelming urge to GET OUT AND RUN!!! So I packed up my bag with Cheetos( I really shouldn’t be eating those but…) and bottled water and headed off with the family to Lake Shannon.
The weather was crisp and had only the slightest bit of a chill…just enough to need a wool sweater. Such a change from Louisiana autumns!
On the road home we found these beautiful little streams running down the side of the rocks.
Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.
